Transport by public bus in the Algarve

The Algarve has a reasonable network of local and regional buses. The main regional bus companies are Eva-Bus and Frotazul.
Unfortunately their websites are not always up-to-date and lack detail. One Algarve resident and frequent bus traveller, MR. Thomas Allen, shares his knowledge about public transport on his website. Although this is not an official website, we often use it. See here his Quicklist of timetables and Algarve Bus Map. He also made an Albufeira Bus Map.
Transport by train in the Algarve
De ´Comboios De Portugal` keeps a regional train alive between Villa Real Sant Antonio (Spanish border) and Lagos in the West-Algarve. It is a rather slow, but a charming and low cost way of travelling in the Algarve. Download from www.cp.pt a PDF with the train times and stations.
