Description

This walk will lead you close to the charming village of Hortas do Tabual and along the sloping farmlands near the coast.

Meeting point

Start and finish is from the coffee shop opposite the church at the main square. In case you come from the eastern Algarve, always follow the signs towards Sagres. Raposeira lies 20 km west of Lagos and just before Vila do Bispo on the N125. The village square where we meet is on your right side, just off the crossing with the traffic lights on the N125. Terrain

This walk is bit more undulating with frequent small climbs. The terrain is a mixture of asphalt, gravel roads and forest paths. The far west of the Algarve is cooler, so on hotter days this is still a pleasant walk.

Public Transport

Getting to/from Raposeira

There is a bus leaving from Lagos Bus Terminal (map) at 09h15 and will arrive in Raposeira at 09h59. Check here the Eva Bus Times (PDF)
The return bus will leave Raposeira at + 14h00 or take the next one at 16h15 or 17h25 if you want to explore Raposeira a bit more. See Eva Bus Times (PDF) for the Sagres - Lagos bus.

Getting to/from Lagos

There is a train leaving from Albufeira - Ferreiras at 07h48, Silves at 08h18 and Portimão at 08h32.
It will stop in Lagos at 08h51, which is the end station.
There are daily trains from Lagos returning towards Faro at 17h01, 18h15 and at 19h19.

There is also daily a bus leaving Portimão at 08h00, arriving in Lagos at 08h40 in the Bus Terminal. This bus is operated by Frotazul. Portimão doesn´t have a Bus Terminal, but you can buy your ticket in the shop at the Largo do Dique (map) and ask from where the bus departs (probably near the Chinese Restaurant here).
The return journey from Lagos to Portimão can be done by Eva Bus or Frotazul.

Check out our Events Page on Facebook for the dates that we will walk in Raposeira. There is no need to book. Just show up 15 minutes before the start of the walk.
