The Via Algarviana for Individual riders – 2021 dates
Every year we organise multiple mountain biking weeks for individual riders who want to ride the Via Algarviana.
Also known as the GR13, this route leads you from Monte Gordo, on the Spanish border, through the heartland of the Algarve to the town of Sagres. You’ll reach the end of your journey at the iconic lighthouse of Cape Saint Vincent, perched on top of the rocks, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
You will follow our GPS route every day over double and single tracks, through dense forests and open grasslands. Daily distances are on average around 70km, with 85 km on the last day. Most of the last day will be on downhill trails from the Serra de Monchique to Sagres, but there are still around 1000 metres to climb so you will need to be fit!
Dinner will be served in a nearby B&B, and they’ll also provide you with a nutritious breakfast the next morning.
Our detailed GPS routes give you the choice of riding alone at your own pace or joining up with a group of other like-minded riders.
MTB groups and clubs can contact us for a guided Trans Algarve MTB Holiday.
