From easy going tarmac to the beach, to roads climbing up to the Monchique Mountains. All routes pass cultural and historical sites.

Immediately after your reservation we will we email you the GPS routes that you have selected. You can choose 1 route per rental day and per total booking.

Bike routes

– 01 Monchique:

This route climbs from sea level up to approx 500 mtres altitude. A good level of fitness is required, especially in the hot summer months. The level of difficulty is rated low as the route is on tarmac roads. Cycle on quiet roads in the interior into the Serra de Monchique to the village of Monchique. Additionally you can choose to ascend Foia, with 900 mtres the highste peak in the Algarve.

– 02 Barragem de Bravura:

Almost the entire route is off-road and therefore you will just pass few villages during the 35 kilometres. This route requires a good condition and offroad skills as most of the route follows the stone and gravel tracks around the lake north of Lagos.

– 03 Alvor:

This route is heading next to the coast and in some rural areas of Portugal. Cycling near the coast is more busy with traffic in build up areas. Almost the entire route is on tarmac roads and only a few hills need to be climbed.

– 04 Lagos:

While cycling to Meia Praia and Ponte de Piedade you will cycle a mix of off road and on tarmac roads. Lagos is a one of the most popular tourist cities in the Algarve with more build up areas. This route has some climbs and covers a distance of 40 kilometers.

– 05 Barão São João:

This tarmac route leads you to the backyards of the Algarve, heading from village to village. Only in the end you will cycle a short part on gravel roads and therefore the route is not technical. Fitness level needs to be good as you ride in a landscape of rolling hills.

– 06 Silves:

The route to Silves has beautiful views and you can visit the castle of Silves. While cycling on mostly tarmac roads you will see many stork nests on top of chimneys and phone poles during this 65 kilometre ride. You ride in a rural landscape of the Algarve.
