Silves to Sagres e-MTB Holiday
Cycling from Silves to Sagres in the Algarve offers a rich tapestry of highlights. Begin in Silves, a town steeped in Moorish history with its 12th-century castle overlooking orange groves. Pedal westward towards Lagos, passing through sub-tropical vegetation, including carob and olive groves, as well as passing cork oak trees and eucalyptus forests. Lagos itself is a picturesque coastal town with historic fortresses and stunning beaches.
Continuing, cyclists will find an abundance of inland cycling tracks and quiet roads leading to Sagres. This rugged coastline was historically significant for its role in maritime exploration, evident in Sagres’ imposing fortress overlooking the Atlantic. Along the way, enjoy the cooler climate of the western Algarve, which offers relief from the higher temperatures often found further east. - Book the bike hire first and we will manually re-confirm the bike(s) that you requested, in your size and with the relevant start date.
- After you have received our confirmation, please go ahead with your hotel reservations.
- Should we not have the requested bike, we will suggest another bike or start date without any obligation. In case you wish not to accept our suggestion we will issue a free & immediate refund.
- In case you can´t find any flights, or suitable accommodation or do have another reason to cancel your booking, please be assured that our no-kibble cancellation & refund policy allows you to cancel for free up to 72 hours before departure.
- Finally, book your Airport Transfers.
Flexibility & Freedom
This short 2-day MTB holiday is perfect in case you have booked already an accomodation.
For example, if you have booked your holiday in Lagos, you could take a taxi to Silves,
and we´ll meet you there at 10h00 at the parking in front of Burger Rach to hand out the bikes.
After you have cycled to Sagres on the next day, you can taxi back to Lagos.
Each of these services will be approx. €25-30 one-way.

Silves to Sagres e-MTB Holiday
Based on the KTM Macina Team e-Mountainbike the price is usually €349 and for a limited time we´ll offer a €50 discount per person. That will make it for now €299 pp. That is for a minimum of 2 riders. This includes e-mountain bike hire for 2 days, delivery and collection, luggage transfers and all GPS routes.
Should you be with 5 riders or more, please count on a €50 pp off, making it an affordable €249 per person!
For non-electric bikes please calculate the following differences in price for 2 days:

Itinerary for the Silves to Sagres e-MTB Holiday
Day 1: From Silves to Lagos
Riding across the Moorish bridge that crosses the Rio Arade, depart from Silves and proceed towards Portimão. There is an additional loop to the Ria do Alvor estuary where flamingos can be seen. Riding your bike along Meia Praia’s long sandy beach will bring you to the busy Marina.

Day 2: From Lagos to Sagres
Riding across the Ponta da Piedade cliff tops, depart Lagos in the direction of Praia da Luz. Single and double tracks lead to Burgau, where the beach bar is an excellent place to have lunch. Continue riding and enter Costa Vicentina National Nature Park. Once at Sagres, it’s worthwhile to make the extra trip to Cape St. Vicentina, which is home to a famous lighthouse.
